Floriana Pagano
Documentation and Communities Coordinator
Floriana has been an activist for all their adult life. Struck by the possibilities of experimenting with identities in the internet and fascinated by cyber cultures and by the liberating potentialities of free software and networks, they have volunteered for independent media, free culture, and hacktivism projects since the 90s and participates in several projects managing privacy-oriented network infrastructures, with a focus on queerfeminist hacking. Technical writer, sysadmin, digital security manual author and digital self-defense trainer, Floriana coordinates the end-user and internal documentation and helps organize the preventative efforts of Access Now’s Digital Security Helpline, with a focus on networking with other help desks for the civil society. Floriana holds a MA in Digital and Print Media Publishing and a MA in migration studies.
