On March 30-April 1, we’ll hold RightsCon 2016, returning once again to Silicon Valley.
Engaging across sectors is more important than ever
This year will see a bigger, brighter, and better RightsCon, more dynamic and outcome-oriented than ever before. RightsCon brings together activists, visionaries, technologists, businesses, lawyers, civil society members, and engineers to advance the issues at the intersection of the internet and human rights.
We are just starting to organize our attendee list, but our current speakers include:
David Kaye, U.N. Special Rapporteur on the Right to Freedom of Opinion and Expression;
Joe Cannataci, U.N. Special Rapporteur on the Right to Privacy;
Eileen Donahoe, Director of Global Affairs at Human Rights Watch;
Cindy Cohn, Executive Director of the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF);
Dan Bross, Senior Director of Corporate Citizenship at Microsoft;
Jillian York, Director for International Freedom of Expression at EFF;
Barton Gellman, Journalist, bestselling author, and Pulitzer Prize-winner on the global surveillance disclosure;
Walid Al-Saqaf, Board Trustee for the Internet Society and postdoctoral researcher at Stockholm University.

Our inclusive program sub-themes this year include:
- Human Rights, Trade, and Business
