VitaFest: A festival for community care and digital resilience

This weekend, on June 4-5, our partners Vita Activa hosted VitaFest 2022 — the first international festival on community care for digital resilience. The full lineup of virtual sessions are now available for you to explore:

The festival brought together women and LGBTQI+ people, journalists, activists and defenders of gender rights, labor rights, mother earth, and freedom of expression, survivors of sociopolitical and gender conflict, and circles of women and digital artists with a gender perspective, along with a broad community of people interested and involved in mental health, inclusion, and respect for human rights. The sessions bring forward the lived experiences of people targeted with online gender-based violence, and explore empathetic and constructive approaches to healing and resilience.

The festival’s host, Vita Activa, is a helpline for women and LGBTQI+ people, journalists, activists, and human rights defenders who face online gender-based violence, stress, anxiety, chronic fatigue, trauma, and pain. They provide free, confidential, and anonymous services in both English ([email protected]) and Spanish ([email protected]) supporting psychological and digital first aid, holistic crisis management, and strategic decision making.

For those of you joining us for RightsCon (June 6-10, 2022), we encourage you to connect with the Vita Activa team in several sessions where they will be speaking throughout the week.
